PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) offers more flexibility in choosing healthcare providers. You can generally see any healthcare provider, whether they are in-network or out-of-network, without a referral. If you choose to see an out-of-network provider, you may have to pay a higher cost. HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plans generally have a more restrictive network, and you are usually required to choose a PCP from the network. However, HMO plans have lower out-of-pocket costs and may not have deductibles. Co-payments are more common for covered service.
